Lemon Caper Fish

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 white or yellow onion
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup capers
  • 1 pound (or two filets) white fish (cod, tilapia, grouper)
  • salt and pepper
  • white rice, lemon wedge, and parsley for serving


  • If serving with rice, make your rice
  • Heat the butter in a pan over medium heat
  • While butter is melting in the pan, cut up the onion into slices and place into pan to cook. Let simmer on medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasisonally. Season with salt and pepper
  • Add the capers to the pan
  • Salt & pepper your fish and then nestle the two filets into the pan
  • Let the fish cook about 5 minutes per side, depending on how thick the filets are
  • Add more salt and pepper to taste
  • Serve fish over rice and top with lots of sauce!
